8. Waste handling

At Lund University and Kemicentrum, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact while ensuring the safety of our co-workers. Proper waste sorting plays an important role in achieving these goals. To support your efforts, all waste handling services are provided free of charge.

Hazardous waste is managed by SYSAV Industri AB, and there are specific rules to follow for proper waste disposal and collection:

  • Ensure that waste items are labeled with their contents and relevant pictograms.
  • Prepare a goods declaration for transporting infectious waste.
  • Fill out the forms for the removal of chemical waste and low-level radioactive waste.
  • Transport the waste to a permitted storage or disposal facility.
  • Contact SYSAV for waste pick-up

The necessery forms and more information regarding waste handling (Waste Management Handbook) can be found in the right column and in section 8.1-8.7.
